Use of nanotechnology in medicine is increasingly becoming important. Being member of DBT, ICMR taskforces, we realised that there are several nano-formulations in advanced stage of development and soon will be ready for clinical trials/commercialization. While discussing in taskforce and with Director THSTI, Secretary DST & DBT, and DG-ICMR, it was realised that there is an urgent need for a formulating the draft guideline for development of regulation in area of nanomedicine.

ISNM in collaboration with Department of Biotechnology, GoI, and Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), organised a 1- day meeting on 13th July at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi to deliberate and prepare draft on nano-safety regulation.
